Honey Basics
Honey Daniels (played by
Jessica Alba) is an NYC girl who teaches
dance at the local
Youth Center that her mom runs - that is, when she's not
auditioning for music vids. Honey's got
mad skills but she can't seem to catch a break - until someone films her dancing with their
video camera and it catches the eye of a big-time music video director. Then everything - from her bank account, to her
love life, to
her goals - changes for Honey.
Honey: Hip Hop Hurray!
Honey is filled with
killer music and stylin' dance moves.
Lil' Romeo is awesome as Benny, a 'hood kid with some stylin' moves, but major 'tude. And,
Mekhi Phifer is adorable as Chaz, a cutie barber who's got the hots for
Honey. The total scene-stealers are Raymond (played by Zachary Isaiah Williams) and Gina (played by Joy Bryant). Gina is Honey's loud-mouthed but good-hearted
best friend and Raymond is Benny's little bro with the big hair. The movie's awesome
dance moves are only topped by its
killer soundtrack. You'll be hearing Jadakiss, Missy Elliott, Tweet, Blaque and more - and you'll be seeing some of 'em too. Major
cameos in this flick!
Honey: Not So Sweet
Honey's only draw back is the
not-so stellar acting on the part of Jessica Alba and David Moscow (who plays Michael Ellis, the video director). Luckily, because of Jessica's moves and
style, and the whole vibe of the flick - the bad acting doesn't actually matter much.
Honey: The Last Dance
If you're into feel-good films - or movies with
dance themes - this one rocks. You'll be dancing in your seat!
