Siblings In Sports

Aug 31, 2015

From twin tennis stars to a family of football players, Kidzworld looks at famous siblings from the world of sports.

The Williams Sisters - Tennis for Two

Serena and Venus Williams are probably the most famous siblings in the world of sports. The sisters have dominated women's tennis, winning 28 Grand Slam singles titles between them and teaming up to win 13 Grand Slam doubles titles. The two have played against each other 26 times with Serena winning 15 of those matchups. For more on Serena and Venus Williams, check out their biography.

Eli and Peyton Manning - Football Family

Eli and Peyton Manning are both quarterbacks in the NFL who come from a family with a strong football history (their dad, Archie, was a quarterback with the New Orleans Saints in the 1970s). So, who's better? Peyton is five years older and has already set numerous passing records with the Indianapolis Colts, while younger bro Eli has only played a handful of poor games as the starting QB for the New York Giants. Peyton will give you much better numbers for your fantasy football team, while Eli has yet to prove he shares anything more with his brother than the same last name.

The Barbers - Tiki and Ronde

Tiki and Ronde Barbers are twins who play very different positions on the football field. Tiki is a Pro-Bowl running back for the New York Giants, while Ronde is a Pro-Bowl cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. The two are best friends off the field, but on the field, both Barbers say they never hesitate tackling or bowling over their twin if it helps their team win.

The Bryan Brothers - Tennis Twins

Bob and Mike Bryan are identical twins who are double trouble on the tennis court. The pair have been one of the top ranked teams in mens' doubles over the past five years with more than 20 tournament victories, including the 2003 French Open. Bob and Mike not only play tennis together, they also live together, share the same car and often wear matching outfits. Talk about massive cheeseballs! One big difference between the pair is that Mike is right-handed, while Bob is a lefty.

The Molinas - Baseball Brothers

Jose, Benjie and Yadier Molina of Puerto Rico are all catchers in Major League Baseball. Jose and Benjie split duties behind the plate for the Los Angeles Angels, while younger brother, Yadier is in his second season as a catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Older brother Benjie has the best stats while Yadier catches for the team with the best record in baseball. Both the Angels and the Cardinals are expected to make the playoffs in 2005, which means the Molina brothers could be facing each other in the World Series! How's that for a sibling rivalry?
