Top 10 Spring Break Activities

Not sure how to occupy yourself this spring break? Here's KW's top 10 ways to squeeze the most fun out of your vacation!

#10. Hit the Slopes!

Spring break is the perfect time to go skiing or boarding with friends at your local mountain before the season ends and you're waiting 'til next winter rolls around.

#9. Head Out Into the Community

Check out what's happening at your community center during spring break. From dances to sports, it's the place to be. Many community centers have schedules you can pick up ahead of time telling you all about the events planned for that month. Sign up for classes early as they often get filled up. Plus, they'll usually have some cool volunteer opportunities that you might wanna add to your resume.

#8. Get Wet

There's got to be a a public swimming pool around town somewhere. It may not be Mexico, but it's not half bad. Brush up on your backstroke, your butterfly and your front crawl. Lounge around in the hot tub and go for a spin on the slide.

#7. Inside Fun

Spend a day at the museum, planetarium or even a space center. Learn not only about the sun, moon and stars, but also about communication satellites, space shuttles and astronaut missions. Check out www.nasa.gov for info on space centers around the world.

#6. Get Crafty

Plan a crafts day. Drag out the paint, glue and glitter and get as messy as you want. Make picture frames, jewelry or anything else your heart desires.

#5. Think Retro

Forget rollerblading - slap on a pair of roller skates and cruise. You know, those old-skool skates that you can actually control. For info on where you can find the closest skating rink, go to www.rollerskating.org.

#4. Catch a Flick

Go and catch one of the latest movies. Whether it's The Spiderwick Chronicles, Be Kind, Rewind, or 27 Dresses, spring break is a great time to head to the theater and catch a cheap matinee.

#3. Have a Gaming Party

Invite your friends over for a video game tournament. Assign teams, create team names and be sure to have a prize for the winners.

#2. Be a Mallrat

Have a girl's day at the mall. Try on tons of clothes and check out all the latest beauty products - some places even give free make-overs. If you're cash-strapped, head to your local thrift shop and amaze your friends with your cheap finds.

#1. Sleepover

PJ parties still rock the house! Get ready for popcorn, DVDs, pillow fights and lots of gossip. No matter what age you are, sleepovers are always a hit!

Alrighty XD You're welcome :P (Yeah, it  is  too bad you can't eat it.)

since i was young since i was small, stupid, clueless. in a daze in a faze that the world was a beautiful kind place. convinced life was a big and precious thing. i was sought after by pigs. no not the animals. although the male species can act like animals. they can be ferocious, sex###########d cold-hearted. They can go after you as if you were prey. hunt you down. and kill you. but instead of taking your life. it's your innocence. your right to feel important in life. they make the word "beautiful", sound so fake the way it slides off their lips and into my mouth convincing me it must be ok if i let my guard down i don't enjoy being talked to because you like the way i look i like the way that butterfly looks but i'm not going to catch it and rip it's wings off. you like my face you like my body but you don't like ME enough to stay and treat me like i'm worth something. exscuse me. while i walk away from your filthy hands. but don't touch me. one more crack in my porceline skin. and i'm done. go break someone elses body.

When I try to come up with ideas, I tend to take a cliche and change elements about it so that it takes on a sort of originality. So, for example, let's say we're taking the cliche of a band of friends (or strangers) hunting a dragon. Instead of their motive being that the dragon is, say, eating innocent villagers or holding a princess captive, that it's a more personal issue. Maybe the dragon is a smaller type with a more mischievous demeanor, and is stealing the characters' valuables as a prank, and the characters want their things back. They might be innocent villagers themselves, unskilled with any sort of tracking or fighting techniques, and hire a sort of mercenary to help them out. But if you wanted a plotless sort of thing with a lot of flexibility, you could have the characters be a band of mercenaries who get hired by people to do various jobs. And if you can find more things to swap out in any idea you come up with, you'll eventually find yourself being in a sort of popcorn machine of ideas. Hopefully, this post has been helpful.
