Pokémon Video Game National Championships 2009

The 2009 Pokémon Video Game and Trading Card Game (TCG) National Championships, happening June 27-28 at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO, will see competitors from across the nation competing in a two-day storm of battles. The winners will go on to test their skills against the best players in the world at the 2009 Pokémon World Championships in August in San Diego, CA.

Open To The Public

This free and fun family event will feature giant inflatables of popular Pokémon characters, a dance party with Pikachu and pals, free giveaways and free video game character downloads, as well as fast-paced but friendly competition from kids all over America that have been working for months to prepare them for the event with the hopes of going to the World Championships. Come & Compete

Even if you’re not a regional champ you can come and compete at the Pokémon Video Game National Championships, which will open its doors to the public for entry through random selection. If you want to be a contender, just show up for check-in at the America’s Center with a copy of Pokémon Platinum Version for Nintendo DS at the following dates and times:

  • Senior Division registration: June 27, 8:30-9:30 a.m.
  • Junior Division registration: June 27, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The first and second place finishers will be awarded travel for two to play in the Pokémon Video Game World Championships, trophies and a Pokémon prize package including a Nintendo Wii console (first place), a Nintendo DS game system and other cool Pokémon prizes. Pokémon World Championships

The first Pokémon Video Game World Championships and the 2009 Pokémon TCG World Championship will be held on August 14 and 15 in San Diego, CA. For the Pokémon Video Game World Championships, 32 U.S. Pokémon Platinum Version competitors will battle to be the best Pokémon video game player on the planet. For the Pokémon TCG World Championship hundreds of players will compete to become TCG World Champion.
