American Idol Recap :: Thursday March 4

Jul 10, 2018

American Idol has narrowed it down to the Top Ten Guys and the Top 10 Girls but there’s still more cuts to be made. Find out who sticks around and who gets the boot in this week’s recap.

Highlights From The Top 10 Girls

  • Crystal Bowersox was hospitalized for complications from diabetes, but she’s a-ok now. But her stint in the hospital caused a switch in the schedule—this week the guys went first instead of the girls. But waiting for Crystal was worth it—she rocked As Long As I Can See the Light by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
  • Lilly Scott strummed her guitar as she worked Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come. Her giant feather earring was totally distracting, but her unique voice brought the attention back to her talent.
  • Siobhan Magnus killed the final note of Think by Aretha Franklin, but Simon was still unimpressed. He liked the last note, but still thought a lot of her cover was “terrible.”
  • Highlights From The Top 10 Guys

  • John Park sang Gravity by John Mayer but the judges thought the song was a bad choice for his vocals.
  • Baby-faced Tim Urban sang Come On Get Higher by Matt Nathanson and the judges—even Simon!—really think he’s showing improvement.
  • Todrick Hall covered What’s Love Got To Do With It? By Tina Turner but Simon thinks he should give up singing and focus on dancing—he even compared Todrick to a theme park singer. Ouch!

  • Who's Out?

The charismatic John Park seemed destined for the Top 10, but he and Jermaine Sellers didn’t make it through this week. As for the girls, Michelle Delamor (who covered Creed and plans to release a “glam funk” clothing line), and Haeley Vaughn (who wants to be the next Miley Cirus) were sent packing. !
