Sky Ferreira Bio

Birthdate: July 8, 1992

Birthplace: Los Angeles, California

From MySpace personality to international pop starlet, Sky Ferreira is on top of the world. Read her Kidzworld bio to learn more about her musical influences and which vampire she’d date.

Born to Perform

Sky Ferreira is absolutely obsessed with making music. The 18-year-old singer was born and raised in Los Angeles, a big city with an even bigger assortment of cultures. Sky knew from the start that she was born to be a singer. “It seems like it’s been a very long journey, but it’s just the beginning,” she says. Sky originally rose to popularity on MySpace, after posting her own tracks as well as a few cover songs.

Making Music

In 2009, Sky signed to Parlophone Records and began working on her debut CD, which is still untitled. The album of electronic pop tunes will be released January 11, 2011, and will include the songs “17,” “One,” and “Obsession.” Sky cites female stars like Madonna, Britney Spears and the Runaways as her musical role models, saying they are all iconic, but real. She wants to ensure her own music is real as well, so she writes what she knows. “I’m interested in telling stories about youth and desire,” Sky says. “Not love though, because I haven’t experienced that yet.”

The Vampire Diaries

Sky’s newest single “Obsession” will be featured on an episode of the second season of The Vampire Diaries, and will also be included on the show’s soundtrack, which will be released October 12. A fan of the show, Sky is excited her music will be included. Which vampire would she choose if she were Elena? “I’m not sure if I’m Team Damon or Team Stefan yet. Someone help me choose!”

So even though Tangled was really funny i will always pick Brave. That's a really good point ^-^ I still like Tangled better. The plot made more sense and was better written (in my opinion though) I thought the humor was better as well; definitely a lot less crude! Also, the lack of songs in Brave bummed me out... it is a Disney Princess Movie :/ (Don't argue that it's Pixar!) Wait you think because it's a Disney movie there has to be singing!? Really that's dumb. Ok that Iis just my opinion. But really that's dumb.  No, that's not what I think. They're are plenty of Disney movies without singing. I just would appreciate that aspect -especially in a Disney Princess movie, but it's okay.
