Quiz the Coach :: School Sport Choices

Hey Coach,

What is a good sport for girls… not to girly… not to boyish? Please tell me before it is too late for sports because I need a sport to play for college application… it will look good!

Dear smh.tothecom,

You’re absolutely right! Playing on a sports team will look good on a college application. Colleges know that sports help students gain confidence, teamwork, and other important skills that help you and your college friends excel at a college level.

High School Sports

Champs!Champs!

It’s good to choose a sport that shares the interests that you want to follow. Here’s a list of school sports that have specific skills that you can acquire:

  • Softball (Fun)
  • Track Team (Focus)
  • Basketball (Teamwork)
  • Volleyball (Indivdual Skills)
  • Ski Team (Adventure)
  • Tennis (Competition)
  • Swimming (Healthy Body)
  • Soccer (Communication)
  • Wrestling (Physical)

No matter what sport you choose, you will really broaden your horizons for developing more skills. For instance, playing on a basketball team will give you the confidence to be a leader in your school projects. If you travel on a ski team, you may discover that you want to explore more of the world and travel. If you become a good swimmer, you might want to try surfing or other water sports. Playing any school sport will make you more social and comfortable around other people. Have fun!

Every sport is dangerous, some are just more obvious than others. When people are good at what they do, they make things seem easy. very well said! CHEERLEADING IS LIKE DANCE GYMNASTICS MIXED TOGETHER WITH WORDS. AND DANCE AND GYMNASTICS ARE CONSIDERED SPORTS.
