Fashion Police: 2011 MTV VMAs

Aug 29, 2011

So now that we know who the winners and losers were at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), it’s time to weigh in on the biggest style winners and losers! Kidzworld’s Fashion Police were patrolling the red carpet on Sunday, August 28, and here’s what they found – fashion-wise.

Style Winners

BeyonceCourtesy of MTV

Not only did Beyonce steal the show with her baby news, she also looked gorgeous on the red carpet in a flame-colored off-the-shoulder gown and a side ponytail!

Katy PerryCourtesy of MTV

We loved how Katy Perry took inspiration from Asian culture and gave it her own unique twist, with a cute, flowery frock, hot-pink strappy shows and a parasol, which made her dyed-pink hairdo pop!

Selena GomezCourtesy of MTV

Selena Gomez is winning style awards every time she walks a red carpet these days. Check out her lacy short/long black gown, which she paired with gold heels and a matching clutch and accessories.

Style Losers

Britney SpearsCourtesy of MTV

We love Britney Spears, but we don’t think this shorts-and-matching-top set was one of her best red-carpet outfits. Plus, the black boots are … a little much (not to mention, kinda high!).

JoJoCourtesy of MTV

JoJo’s black dress came complete with a black “pouf” around the middle that was kind of unflattering …

Skylar GreyCourtesy of MTV

You may or may not know who singer/songwriter Skylar Grey is yet, but we think she needs a few more attempts to get her red-carpet style right!

Style What?

Nicki MinajCourtesy of MTV

We’re not sure where Nicki Minaj was going with this outfit, but we gotta give her credit for her confidence in making bold fashion statements!

Jo Calderone a.k.a. Lady GagaCourtesy of MTV

Lady Gaga stayed home while her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, took to the MTV VMA stage to pay tribute to Britney Spears … we thought Lady G pulled off her boy persona pretty well, so she gets a nod from us this year.

KreayshawnCourtesy of MTV

Kreayshawn’s sequined Mickey Mouse dress and red sneakers wouldn’t likely suit most people walking a red carpet, but again, we gotta give credit to a girl who wears what she wants with confidence!
