From the creators of Mortal Combat comes a brand new kind of fighting game featuring all your favorite heroes and villains from the DC Universe!

There seems to be an endless wave of fighting games coming out in the past few years, but Injustice: Gods Among Us stands out from the crowd for several reasons. The game is developed by the same company that made the most recent Mortal Kombat games, so you know that it is crafted by people who know what they are doing. More importantly, the game features all your favorite heroes and villains from the DC Universe, including Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, and The Joker.

The Mighty Among Us

As a fighting game, Injustice is similar to Mortal Kombat in style, especially when it comes to combos, but there are a few big differences. Instead of a block button, you hold back to block, like in Street Fighter. The super meter gained during a fight can be used for a super or for a "wager" that lets the player break a combo and attempt to gain a small bonus, such as extra health.

Characters in Injustice are either "power" or "gadget" types. All characters can use the various items and structures found on every stage to do extra damage, but they will use the same elements in different ways depending on their type of character. For example, Superman can pick up a car to smash his opponent while Batman would make the car explode. Additionally, every stage has an edge where you can hit your enemy into a new area of the stage while dealing massive damage.

Stiff Upper Lip

The biggest problem with Injustice is the lack of excitement. The animation for the characters is very stiff and the announcer for the game sounds very bored. This can make the most epic battle seem dull at the end, especially when your opponent gets knocked out but still gets back up completely before falling to their knees. Injustice has a great story mode and a decent online system. If you love fighting games or DC comics, it is worth your while to pick up this game
