Blonde popstar Anastacia announced that she was battling breast cancer. The 29 year-old said that she was lucky her doc decided to give her a mammogram (a scan that detects lumps in breasts) even though she was so young. Doctors predict Anastasia will make a full recovery.

LA Lakers basketball star Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, had their first child Sunday, January 19, 2003. The couple had a girl at 3:08 PM that day and named her Natalia Diamante Bryant.

Willow is getting hitched to Wesley!
No, it's not some wacky crossover Angel/Buffy the Vampire Slayer show. It's reality. Actress Allyson Hannigan (Willow from Buffy,) and actor Alexis Denisoff (Wesley on Angel,) are engaged. The two started dating shortly after Alexis' character spun off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and onto the show Angel. The wedding date has not yet been set.

Singer R Kelly was arrested again on January 22, 2003. This time he was nabbed in Miami on charges that involve possession of child pornography.

Bobby Brown's trip to LA to perform at the 2003 American Music Awards, with Ja Rule, violated his parole in the state of Georgia. It seems Bobby Brown was not supposed to leave the state of Georgia until after his trial for drunk driving charges. Bobby can't really beat this one, as millions of peeps watched him performing in LA on TV.
