Vi3's Justin Roman Interview
KW: You just finished touring with Nick Carter. What did you learn from him about the biz?
Justin: On the tour we went out a bunch of times and really got close. He can definitely go out and party like a rock star but he's right there, on time, for the sound check with his full voice for the show. We picked up from him how to balance having fun but also, you know, doing your job to the best of your abilities as well.
KW: So now you're heading out on the Seventeen Magazine Rock Your Prom mall tour. What was your prom like?
Justin: I sang, with couple of buddies, a song called It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday by Boyz II Men. It was a fun time. After prom we went camping. I'm not a camping kinda guy. It was raining. It was cold. It was a nightmare.
KW: Do you feel like you should set a positive example for your younger fans?
Justin: Definitely. I've never done drugs. I don't ever want to get into the situation where I'm not practicing what I preach.
KW: You won a Chicago Music Award for Song Writer of the year, for the seven songs you wrote on So Tight. What was that like for you?
Justin: That was one of the highlights of my life. I was up against people like R. Kelly, who I idolized when I was growing up. I think it gave us a lot of credibility.
KW: With all the craziness in your life right now, do you have time for a girlfriend?
Justin: I'm single. It wouldn't be fair to any girl to only see her boyfriend, like, once every two months. That's kind of what the song Backstage Girl is about.
