Summer Skateboarding Camps

Get away from your parents and learn how to do a kickflip this summer! Here's a look at some of the sickest summer skateboard camps.

Skater Island

Spend a week at the East Coast's wildest skatepark at Skater Island in Rhode Island. Check out 21,000 square feet of concrete, including a huge street course, a 12-foot vertical ramp and a 110-foot mini ramp snake front. Skater Island hosts week-long camps, which run all summer. PointXCamp

This might just be the coolest skateboard camp on the planet. PointXCamp is located in Aguanga, California, between Los Angeles and San Diego. The camp has a 75,000-foot outdoor skatepark, which includes dozens of ramps, halfpipes, rails and just about everything else you'd want at a skatepark. PointX has top notch trainers and the camps are frequently visited by some of the world's top pro skaters, including Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Ryan Sheckler and Lyn-Z Adams.

If campers ever want a short break from skating, PointXCamp also has a paintball course, a lake for wakeboarding or fishing, basketball hoops and volleyball courts. What's even better? Every cabin at PointX has a Playstation 2 console for hours of gaming pleasure! Skateboard camps at PointX run from June until September in three-day or week long sessions. Lake Owen Skateboard Camp

Those of you in the Midwestern US can spend a week riding at Lake Owen Camp in Cable, Wisconsin. Lake Owen Camp's facilities include an indoor skatepark with two street courses, a drop-in ramp and a deep foam pit for soft landings. You'll also find a full outdoor skatepark, an outdoor street course and a massive vert ramp for your favorite big air skate tricks. Skateboard camps at Lake Owen run from June until mid-August. Camp Woodward Skateboard Camp

Camp Woodward in Woodward, Pennsylvania has every kind of skate terrain for every level of skater. They've got two massive indoor parks featuring rails, jump boxes, quarterpipes and transition pyramids. The Woodward outdoor park features a vert ramp, a wild street course and dozens of other goodies to make this a skateboarder's paradise. Skateboard camps feature daily lessons from quality instructors and visits from some of the world's top pros. Camp Woodward also has a Go-Kart track, a paintball course and a full skateshop - just in case you get sick of skateboarding (like that could ever happen). Camps run from June until September.     CHEERLEADING IS LIKE DANCE GYMNASTICS MIXED TOGETHER WITH WORDS. AND DANCE AND GYMNASTICS ARE CONSIDERED SPORTS.
