Hey Coach,
One day, I played basketball with the other kids at school but every time I shot the ball they yelled some nonsense word. When I told them to stop, they laughed. Now everytime I try to play, they laugh at me and say to play with the other kids who don't know how to play basketball. What should I do?

Hey FlipIt45,

Well, the first thing you should is find some other kids to shoot hoops with. Why would you want to play b-ball with a bunch of chumps who make fun of you and laugh at you? There's no point wasting your time playing with a group of cocky, snobby kids who think they're the bomb, when they're probably throwing up just as many bricks as you are. Your skills aren't likely to improve and you'll end up associating the sport of basketball with something negative.

You're better off finding a different b-ball court and playing with kids who are more interested in playing hard and having fun than making fun of others. If you have problems finding other people to play with, talk to your P.E. teacher or coach at school and find out if there's any intramural basketball programs at your school. You can also see if there are any basketball programs at your community center or YMCA, where you can find other kids to play with. The important thing is that you keep playing. Basketball is too great a sport to be wasted on other kids who don't get it.
