Autobots (the good guys), and the
Decepticons (bad guys), came to
Earth a long time ago in search of Energon (the
fuel they use to
power themselves). The Autobots and the Decepticons started scrappin' it out big time in the original cartoon from the
'80s and then, in the big
Transformers movie, a huge planet-eating Transformer named
Unicron showed up and just about wiped 'em all out.

The
Transformers Energon cartoon series starts up
10 years after the planet-eating Unicron got stomped and
Megatron, the Decepticon leader, got blasted out of commission. The
robotic action kicks it again with the new
cartoon series. Here are some

A bunch of TV-watching Transformers called Junkticons live on a junk planet.
"Ba weep granna weep ninny bang" is the Transformers' universal greeting.
The Decepticons once teamed up with Cobra Commander from G.I. Joe.
Optimus Prime's original voice actor was also Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
Cybertron was created by Primus to battle Unicron.
The original Transformers Movie had the robots cussing.
A US soldier, and Transformers fan, changed his name to "Optimus Prime".
