New Cartoons - Shaman King to Teen Titans

Saturday reruns got ya down? Slap on a happy 'cause Fox and the Kids' WB have spilled on their new cartoon line-ups for fall 2003.

The FoxBox Cartoon Line-Up

The new Fox Saturday sched has three new shows inside the Box. That speedy squirrel-thing, Sonic, is back in Sonic X - and this time he's been accidentally transported to a strange planet inhabited by humans. Sounds scary! Along with his new friend, Christopher, and old pals Knuckles, Tails and Amy, Sonic must collect all the "Chaos Emeralds" before evil, world-ruley Dr. Eggman.

Next, Fox rolls out something called Funky Cops. It's about two brothers who are cops and they're also funky. Maybe your 'rents can explain this one to you. And finally, in a world where anything is possible and ghosts hang with humans, comes the Shaman King. From the people who produced some little show called Yu-Gi-Oh! comes the story of a 13 year-old kid who sees dead people. No it's not Haley Joel Osment. Together with Amidamaru, a samurai warrior spirit, he travels the world fighting nasty spirits on his quest to be the next Shaman King.

Kids' WB Cartoon Line-Up

Over at the WB things kick off with Xiaolin Showdown which is the story of monk-in-training named Omi, and his mystical crusade to find and protect sacred power objects. Hmmm. Kind of a Crouching Tiger, Blue Eyes White Dragon theme happening. Next on our toon tour is Mega Man: NT Warrior. This anime adventure follows fifth grader Lan, whose alter ego is a blue-suited, virus-fighting, virtual superhero named Mega-Man. Set in the not-so-distant future, during the Cyber Revolution of the year 200X, Mega-Man and his friends plug in different power chips to change their gadgets and defenses. Last but far from least comes Teen Titans featuring Robin, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven and Starfire - five teens who join forces to spank evil while dealing with all that traumatic teen stuff, like zits and retainers. It's hard enough being teenish, imagine being a crusading monk kid in the not-so-distant who sees dead dudes and speedy hedgehogs. Someone call the Funky Cops!

Kidzworld Cartoon Picks

It's a no brainer that MegaMan: NT Warrior and Shaman King are going to rule the playground but keep your eyes on Teen Titans. It's got cool all over.

I can't wait to see Shaman King because it is my favourite Manga ever - along with one piece and sand land.
