Racing Stripes DVD Review
Courtesy of Warner BrosIf you liked Babe, you'll love Racing Stripes! Featuring loveable animals, hilarious jokes and an all-star cast, this is one movie you won't want to miss.
Racing Stripes - Life in the Fast Lane
When a
baby zebra named Stripes (voiced by
Frankie Muniz) is accidentally left behind by a traveling
circus, Nolan Walsh (played by
Bruce Greenwood) rescues him and takes him home. Nolan, a former horse trainer, and his daughter live quietly on their
farm, which lies next to the
Turfway Racetrack. The minute Stripes lays eyes on the
racing horses, he dreams of becoming the
fastest horse in Kentucky - the problem is, he doesn't realize he's a
zebra!
Racing Stripes - Overcoming Obstacles
All the barnyard animals quickly make Stripes feel at home, and even encourage him to race. But, he runs into
obstacles when the
horses, especially Trenton's Pride (voiced by
Joshua Jackson from
Dawson's Creek), make fun of the little zebra, who's stripes make him an
outcast. However, Stripes'
confidence is boosted when he meets Sandy, voiced by the oh-so-sweet
Mandy Moore, who teaches him to
believe in himself and follow his dreams.
Racing Stripes - DVD Features
As if this movie wasn't already great enough, the peeps at Warner Bros. decided to pack the DVD full of
super cool extras. Check out a never-before-seen
alternate ending to the movie, deleted scenes and
funny bloopers from the barnyard.
Sing along to the music from the movie with the Music of Racing Stripes featurette and then settle in for a game of Buzz and Scuzz's
Flying Fiasco Challenge. A great addition to any
DVD collection.
Racing Stripes - Bottom Line
Racing Stripes is a
fun family movie. From Goose, the
wise-cracking pelican who's hiding from the mafia, to Buzz and Scuzz, the horse poop-eating
flies, every charater will have you
cracking up 'til your stomach hurts! You may find yourself getting a little teary-eyed during a couple of scenes, but for the most part, you'll be
laughing non-stop.
