Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Game Review
Courtesy of LucasartsThe Force is coming on May 19, 2005 when the Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith movie drops. While you're waiting, the Episode III video game is here for the Xbox and Playstation 2. Gary snagged a copy, did the thumb-twiddling thing and here's the 411 on how cool this game is.
Revenge of the Sith Video Game Basics
Grab your
lightsaber and get ready for a Jedi-packed, droid-busting,
fight-fest! This game is a fighting game where you control General Obi-Wan Kenobi or
Anakin Skywalker and battle your way through the coolest bits of the
Episode III movie.
The Light Side of the Star Wars Episode III Video Game
It's all about one thing, lookin' good while you kick butt. From the
lightsaber combos to the force powers, it's all about being one
stylin' Jedi or Sith. Plus, you can get a peek at the best parts of the
Revenge of the Sith movie before it hits theaters.
The Dark Side of the Revenge of the Sith Video Game
Hoo boy, are there ever problems. First off, all the
combos look cool, but they suck. If you're pulling some awesome looking move, every
bad guy on the block can stomp you and you can't stop them. Second, it's almost
shorter than the movie. If you have a few hours to spare, you can blow through this thing and eat a peanut butter sandwich. Third, the levels are weak and the bad guys are about as smart as
Jello.
Revenge of the Sith Bottom Line
Just like Anakin, it could have been
so cool if it hadn't fallen to the
Dark side of the Force. There are some sweet bits in this game, but too much of it is
awkward and gross. You're way better off with the
LEGO Star Wars video games!
Star Wars Episode III Thumbs Up:
Wicked lightsaber combo moves!
Unleash Force powers on your enemies.
Check out movie moments before the movie drops!
Star Wars Episode III Thumbs Down:
The combos suck.
It's over in just a few hours.
The combos still suck.
Stupid enemies and awkward levels.
