The five girls who were hand chosen on the TV show Pop Stars, have released their first single. The big question: Is Get Over Yourself good enough to make Edens Crush real pop stars?

Eden's Crush

2001 (London - Sire)

Boy bands have been ruling the planet, so it's about time some girl groups start taking over. Watching the making of bands on TV seems to be the craze these days. First there was Making the Band with O-Town and now Pop Stars gives us a sneak peak at what it takes to be a pop star. Meet American Pop Star finalists Ana Maria, Rosanna, Ivette, Nicole and Maile - otherwise known as the new girl group Eden's Crush.

The first single from Eden's Crush, Get Over Yourself hit music stores on March 13, 2001. If this is any hint of what we can expect on the full album then it's okay to get your hopes up. It's everything a great pop song should be - good beats, smooth vocal harmonies and a little attitude. This girl power tune is Destiny's Child meets En Vogue. As for image, the Eden's Crush girls look like they stepped off the set of the Coyote Ugly movie - very cool, very sexy.

The CD single also includes some cool phone messages from the girls for your answering machine. If you haven't heard Get Over Yourself yet then dial up your local radio station and request it - you won't be disappointed. Eden's Crush is the first female group to debut at number one in the US with their first single. As if that wasn't enough success, this summer they're touring with *NSYNC - it doesn't get much better than that. Keep an eye out for the full CD which hits stores on May 1, 2001. Move over Spice Girls there's a new girl group ready to conquer!
