Hoodwinked DVD Review

Dec 27, 2006

You may think you know how the tale of Little Red Riding Hood went down, but you probably don't. That's why you need to watch the animated flick, Hoodwinked, which puts tons of twists and turns into the classic story!

Hoodwinked - Not An Ordinary Fairy Tale

The tale of Hoodwinked begins at the end - but it's not a happy ending. Little Red Riding Hood (voiced by Anne Hathaway) discovers the Big Bad Wolf dressed in granny drag, a tied-up Granny tumbles out of the closet and the Woodsman comes crashing to their rescue. At this point, the screen goes blank and the next thing we know, Granny's house has turned into a crime scene!

Hoodwinked - Trouble in the Hood

The police, in the form of pigs, arrest everyone and press charges, including breaking and entering, disturbing the peace and intent to eat! But none of the four suspects turn out to be what they seem - Red is a tough, karate-chopping chick, Granny prefers extreme sports over knitting, the Woodsman is just plain dumb and the Wolf isn't so big and bad. In fact, the Wolf is an undercover reporter who's determined to crack the case of the Goody Bandit, who has been stealing recipes and putting bakeries out of business. As the investigation continues and all four sides of the story are told, the truth eventually comes out, confusions are cleared up and the real bakery burglar is revealed. But, who is it? You'll have to watch the movie to find the answers!

Hoodwinked - Bottom Line

This classic story has been updated with spunky characters, a lot of humor and plenty of kick-butt action! Though the animation isn't as good as Shrek or The Incredibles, it's still a fun flick that your whole family will enjoy.
