Pokemon Card Game: EX Legend Maker Set Review

The new Pokemon card game expansion set, Pokmeon EX: Legend Maker is here! With tons of new Pokemon, new React Energy cards, new powers and the new Groundbreaker and Shadowquake Theme Decks, it's loaded with goodies. We've checked out this new Pokemon card game set and have the 411 for you here with our review.

Pokemon TCG: EX Legend Maker Set Goodies!

Not only does this set have a new super-rare Pokemon Mew for Pokemon Trainers to collect, it also has a new kind of Energy. The new React Energy cards combine with different Pokemon to unleash new powers! From extra damage to crazy defenses, they're a great surprise for your opponent. Especially when you play cards like Skitty that let you search your deck for React Energy cards.

Pokemon TCG: Groundbreaker Theme Deck Review

This Fighting and Grass Pokemon deck... well it sucks. The only attack for the Basic Fighting Pokemon knocks them out, so it's hard to evolve up to the powerful Golem Pokemon. Plus, the Fighting Pokemon are all weak against Shadowquake's Water Pokemon. The Grass Pokemon are a bit better, but not terrific. Skip this Theme Deck.

Groundbreaker Thumbs Up:

  • Spinda is great for drawing cards!
  • Geodude's Self Destruct does a lot of damage.
  • Groundbreaker Thumbs Down:

  • Your Fighting Pokemon are useless against Shadowquake.
  • Only two Pokemon power up form React Energy.
  • The strongest Pokemon in the deck evolve from Fossils, which can't attack.
  • No way to search for React Energy cards.
  • Groundbreaker Theme Deck Rating:

Pokemon TCG: Shadowquake Theme Deck Review

This deck combines Psychic and Water Pokemon to kick butt! Not only are all the Psychic Pokemon strong against Groundbreaker's Fighting Pokemon, so are the Water Pokemon. Skitty lets you search your deck for React Energy cards, which make Gorebyss incredibly powerful. You also get the powerful Gengar Pokemon who can clobber your opponent's Pokemon even after he gets knocked out. This deck is 'da bomb and every Pokemon Trainer needs one now!

    Shadowquake Thumbs Up:

  • Gengar is an awesome Pokemon!
  • Lots of ways to search for React Energy cards.
  • Pokemon with great React Energy power ups.
  • This deck can defeat Groundbreaker easily!
  • Shadowquake Thumbs Down:

  • Your opponents will whine a lot when you beat them.
  • Skitty gets clobbered by Fighting Pokemon.
  • Shadowquake Theme Deck Rating:

.-. I'm more of an Undertale Fan, but I like FNAF as well. Both are good games.

    1) This belongs in the game section. (Watch this get moved before I finish typing this lol) 2) I personally prefer Undertale (the majority of it anyway..). I don't really like the whole jumpscare thing, however I do Five Nights at Freddy's to be an interesting game for its art and vague storyline. 3) There isn't any such thing as "stealing fans". People's interests change over time. Some people may grow out of Five Nights at Freddy's and move onto Undertale, for some it may be vice versa, and some people may like both.
