Just My Luck - Lucky Stars
Ashley (
Lindsay Lohan) has always had
good luck. She was voted
prom queen in high school (at a school she didn't attend!), she has
the perfect job, always finds the
cutest clothes at sample sale prices and cute boys fall at her feet. But, her luck is about to change. When Ashley throws a
masquerade ball for a big client, the hired astrologer warns her that the
wheel of fortune is getting ready to spin and alter her course. She then meets
a handsome stranger (Jake) on the dance floor, and with a kiss, her good luck is transferred to him! Jake has always been a walking
disaster, but after his encounter with Ashley, things start
looking up.
Just My Luck - Out of Luck
Before she can say "Lucky Rabbit Foot", Ashley goes from being a
good luck magnet to being thrown in jail! The bad luck doesn't stop there. Her apartment
floods, she gets fired and she ruins things with the hot, rich guy she's been seeing. Meanwhile,
the band that Jake's been trying to manage gets signed to a big record label, he gets
a new apartment and girls are swooning over him. Ashley is certain that the astrologer from the party is responsible for her
luck running out, so she sets out to make her
fix things.
Just My Luck - Dumb Luck
Ashley quickly finds out that the only way to get her luck back is to
kiss the same guy she kissed at the party. The trouble? He was wearing
a mask, and he dashed out before she ever got his name. But, fate has a funny way of making things right, so Ashley and Jake do end up
crossing paths again - they just don't realize that they've met before! When he sees her have
a meltdown at a café, he feels bad and offers to help her get a job, which happens to be his old job at a
local bowling alley! Will Ashley ever
clue in and get her luck back? Or was Jake supposed to get it all along?
Just My Luck - Outlook Not Good
Just My Luck plays on all those
crazy superstitions, folklore and
astrological probabilities, that we've all believed in at some point, to bring its
star-crossed lovers together. While the premise itself is a little silly, it's not nearly as
far-fetched as some of the things that happen in the movie. For instance, after Ashley lands the account for her boss with a big client, she is immediately given
her own office and company credit card. And when Jake's luck changes, the record label sets him and his band up with a fully-furnished
artist loft, complete with car service. While the movie is based on the fantasy that
luck and fate play an important role in our lives, these storylines make Just My Luck even more unbelievable.

Just My Luck - Bottom Line
Just My Luck would have been a much better flick if they threw in some
realistic plot points and didn't make everything that happened to its main characters so far-fetched. The dialogue between Lindsay,
Samaire Armstrong and Bree Turner always seemed
forced and uncomfortable, as well. However, Just My Luck will suit its purpose for being a
cute romantic comedy to check out
with the girls on Friday night. It's no
Just Like Heaven, but it is a fun flick.
