High School Musical Remix DVD Review

The Disney Channel has produced some pretty cool made-for-TV movies in the past, and they've kept with the tradition of quality programming with the release of High School Musical. Now you can own your very own copy of the brand new Remix Edition DVD that's in a video store near you! Get the goods on this sing-along show right here.

High School Musical - New Passions

Troy Bolton and Gabriella Mendez couldn't be more different. Troy is the star basketball player at his high school and Gabriella is a brainiac who makes headlines for her smarts. Despite their differences, the pair winds up at the same New Year's Eve party while on vacation with their families. Suddenly, they are randomly picked out of the crowd to sing karaoke together! Neither wants to go through with it, but when they begin to sing, sparks instantly fly. As the night ends, they go their separate ways, but are about to be reunited when Gabriella's family moves to Albuquerque and she starts attending Troy's high school, East High.

High School Musical - Too Cool for School

Gabriella and Troy are ecstatic when they find out they are going to the same school. Neither can forget the night they sang together - so when they see the audition sheet for the new school musical, they both start thinking about what it would be like to sing together again! Of course, nothing is ever easy in high school. Troy knows neither his basketball buddies, nor his dad, will understand his desire to sing in a musical. Gabriella isn't all that eager to get up on a stage in front of a bunch of strangers just yet either. Somehow though, they overcome their fears and decide to secretly audition for the play.

High School Musical - Forces Unite

It isn't long before everyone in school finds out about Troy and Gabriella's new after school activity and there are a lot of unhappy campers. For instance, Sharpay and Ryan Evans have been the leads in every school musical since kindergarten, so they're not about to sit back and let their spotlight be stolen. So, they set out to sabotage things for Troy and Gabriella! Will their schemes work or will Troy and Gabriella beat the odds and steal the show? Guess you'll have to watch the movie to find out!

High School Musical - DVD Features

High School Musical is out on DVD! You can learn how to dance along to the various High School Musical montages, watch various music videos and even watch the movie in a sing-along version (the words to all the songs appear at the bottom of the screen for you to follow along to). But even better than the original version is the new two-disc Remix Edition! It features more dance-alongs, music video remixes, a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of the musical and a High School Reunion with the cast as they sit down to talk about how they've shot to super stardom after appearing in this movie!

High School Musical - Bottom Line

Attention musical fans: this is the movie for you! People have been comparing this flick to the '70s musical classic, Grease, and while it may not be quite the same caliber, High School Musical definitely does a good job of carrying on the tradition of sing-along fun.

“Instruction in world history in the so-called high schools is even today in a very sorry condition. Few teachers understand that the study of history can never be to learn historical dates and events by heart and recite them by rote; that what matters is not whether the child knows exactly when this battle or that was fought, when a general was born, or even when a monarch (usually a very insignificant one) came into the crown of his forefathers. No, by the living God, this is very unimportant. To 'learn' history means to seek and find the forces which are the causes leading to those effects which we subsequently perceive as historical events.”
