Vanessa Hudgens Interview

By: Sindy

She rose to fame playing Gabriella Montez in the hit Disney movie, High School Musical. Now this teen queen is dropping her debut album, V. Kidzworld sits down with Vanessa Anne Hudgens!

Sindy: So why don't you start off by telling me a little about your debut album, V?
Vanessa Hudgens: The V obviously stands for Vanessa but it also stands for variety. While this album is all pop, it's a lot of different kinds of pop - R&B, dance, whatever. I'm really excited about it. It hit stores on September 26th, 2006.

Sindy: Were you involved in the writing process?
Vanessa Hudgens: Unfortunately not. I'm pretty new to the industry so I left it to the professionals this time around. I'd really like to be involved in the future, though.

Sindy: What's the most personal song on the album?
Vanessa Hudgens: Probably Whatever Will Be, Will Be. That's kind of my personal philosophy in this industry. There's so much rejection involved - it can be a little depressing.

Sindy: Are you excited about touring?
Vanessa Hudgens: Yeah, totally! I haven't even been to a real concert yet and now I'm going to be touring with the Cheetah Girls. I'm really excited.

Sindy: Do you play any instruments?
Vanessa Hudgens: I took piano lessons when I was younger and I've been trying to learn how to play the guitar recently. I'd really like to learn how to play the drums. They're a lot of fun and they require a lot of focus.

Sindy: What kind of music are you listening to these days?
Vanessa Hudgens: Lots of things - like a lot of calm things. I've listened to a lot of Zero-7 recently, Frou-Frou... I really like the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Sublime, Postal Service - just a whole bunch of people.
