Vanessa has made up her mind. She's going to tell her dad that we broke up but secretly keep dating me! Man, I feel sort of bad that she has to lie to her parents but it sure beats the alternative. I'm just stoked that she likes me - she really likes me!
So with that whole drama out of the way, I'm really starting to perk up. I woke up this morning with sun streaming into my window and practically blinding me. It's so awesome to not have to wake up in the dark anymore. Too bad we're going to lose a lot of that morning sun when we set the clocks forward next week. But whatever, that just means it will stay light longer after school (which means more skateboarding time).
My aunt (Mom's sister) has been staying with us for the last week. It's been kind of cool - she doesn't have any kids and spends most of her time traveling the world and taking photos. It's kind of got me thinking that I'd like to be a photographer. My aunt says she has an older camera that she'll give me and will show me how to use it before she goes (it's a manual SLR camera, so it's a little tricky to use). I'm stoked to take it to the skate park to try to take some action shots with it.
Her visit has also been pretty cool because Mom is always in a better mood when her sister is in town and pretty much lets us do whatever we want - within reason. If only I could talk my aunt into permanently moving in...
