Carissa Moore - One of a Kind

Carissa Moore's athletic talents were apparent at a young age. Her father said she had incredible "balance and movement" as a two-year old and by the time she was six, Carissa started competing in surfing competitions around Hawaii. Just a year later, she scored a sponsorship by legendary surfing clothing company, Roxy. Her breakout year happened when she was 10 - Carissa won several events that featured the best surfers in Hawaii in the 17 and under category. Surfer Magazine named Carissa Breakthrough Performer of the Year in 2004. In the same year, she won the Billabong Junior Pro Competition.

Carissa Moore - The Future

To date, Carissa has won an astonishing nine National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) titles. The majority of competitions she wins, she's usually the youngest competitor in the field. In the 2007 Roxy Pro Competition in Australia, she was the youngest ever finalist (male or female) and she has surfed in events all over the world. In March 2007, Carissa was the second ranked woman surfer in the world and she also began competing against men as well as women. Cheer-leading is a sport - most people think that it is not - but it is Yes it looks like they are just cheering on the football players - but their routines and being able to hold up girls over their head takes strength, and they work really hard to make everything look good.

I liked cheering for the underdog, so I've always cheered for the Cavs. I'd like to see how this year's line-up goes, though our past best point guard left for the Celtics.  :/

Mayo lost against Dublin again. 1-16 to 1-17. I support Mayo, and I am horrified to be honest. I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but I think Dublin fouled Mayo way more times than they were punished for it. Mayo rarely got any frees and the last free of the game was a minute before it ended and Dublin were taking it from very far away. Of course, they got it. Up until then, it was 1-16 to 1-16. I guess Mayo won't be taking home the cup again for another year.
