Because of the Writer's Guild strike, Lost producers had to compress eight planned episodes into five, including a two-hour season finale.

The part of Vincent the dog is actually played by a female dog named Madison.

Lost's two-part pilot episode was the most expensive in ABC's history. It's reported to have cost between $10 - 14 million.

Lost is filmed on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.

Lost is produced by J.J. Abrams, who also produced hit shows Felicity and Alias. Abrams is also credited with writing and directing Mission Impossible III.
