Kanye West and 50 Cent CD Reviews

Courtesy of Universal
With both their albums dropping on the same day, Kanye and 50 Cent have been taking their usual trash-talking to the next level. Will 50 Cent have to keep his promise to retire if Kanye's album sells more records? We've got reviews of both albums!
Kanye West - Graduation
Graduation is
Kanye's tightest, slickest album to date. It may not be as
hook-heavy as
Late Registration, but that only means his tracks take a little longer to get to know and love. It's worth
investing the effort - they improve with every listen. Kanye might like to
throw tantrums and say shocking things (hello VMAs), but as long as he keeps churning out tunes like this,
all is forgiven.

50 Cent - Curtis
After all the
posturing and trash talking, it's hard to review Curtis without drawing comparisons to Graduation. While Kanye is always changing up his style, 50 Cent's new album is full of the
same old 50 Cent we know from Get Rich or Die Tryin' and
The Massacre. The real
standout moments on this album come from 50's guests (
Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Akon etc.) rather than his
own performances.
50 Cent - Curtis Fun Facts
The album got its name from 50's real name - Curtis James Jackson III.
Both Curtis and Graduation credit Timbaland as a producer.
As of September 14, 2007, Curtis had sold about 603,000 copies in the US (looks like 50 better get a comfy chair for retirement).
