Singer/actress Zendaya is officially a spokesperson for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF 2014. Appearing on Good Morning America, Zendaya talked about why she thinks the charity is so important during Halloween.

“This was something that was really really important to be when I was younger, and it got me in the spirit of learning how to give back at a young age, which I think is important.”

“The first song on 1989 is a song called ‘Welcome to New York’ and I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years.”

“This song is about the fragility and breakable nature of some relationships.This was a relationship where I was kind of living day-to-day wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day.”

Inside the mag the 24-year-old performer dished about loving single life.

“I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am. When you take the other person out of the scenario and you’re walking through life on your own, you end up figuring out what you actually like without anyone else’s input. I’m not too worried about whether I meet someone. I’m going to be happy either way.”
