Replica 18 :: Return of the Perfect Girls Book Review

Oh no! The organization has trapped Amy in a Survivor rip-off! Amy and her sisters are forced to compete against the Andy clones by Cindy Crawford. Amy's only hope is an old friend, or is he?

Author: Marilyn Kaye

Amy, the genetically superior clone heroine of the Replica stories, is in deep trouble this time. An invitation to a date with her new boyfriend goes horribly wrong and traps her on an island run by the organization. Then Marilyn Kaye goes nuts and it turns into an episode of Survivor.

Amys and Andys

The clones are divvied into two tribes, the Amys and the Andys. They compete for food, vote members off and do the same challenges you've seen on Survivor - except nobody has to eat a bug. Which sucks because I would've loved it if someone had forced that snotty Aimee Evans to eat a bug. She is SUCH a brat.

The Bottom Line

I don't know what Marilyn Kaye was thinking when she wrote this story; it's a total Survivor rip-off. But once you ignore how cheesy it is, (Cindy Crawford the clone?!) it's really good. The clones look alike but they have a lot of character. The bad guys are really creepy. Amy runs into an old friend she thought was dead and there's plenty of action. It's the best Replica story I've read so far, if the beginning and end weren't so dumb it would've earned a 5 out of 5.

Which Clone Should Have to Eat a Bug?

    • Aimee Evans - what a snot.
    • Amy Candler - she's too goody-goody.
    • Annie Perrault - the evil clone.
    • Jerri from Survivor - she's still evil.

Unlike my very "charming" friends above, I believe you did what you think was right and really that's all that matters. Because not many people may age (I'm going on eighteen) can even do something like that and you started in sixth grade. But I believe more people should be educated on the LGBTQ movement since not many people, even nowadays, understand the importance of learning about it. If kids can be educated on ISIS, The France Bomings, The World Wars, The Holocaust, etc... Then why not learn about LGBTQ. I don't see it any worse then those other subjects. We're in a era of acceptance and equality and what you're doing could lead the way. It's better to teach people about acceptance young so they won't have misconceptions when they get older. But be careful and tred lightly because not everyone will agree with you and that's how you know you're doing good.
