Sindy:: Tell me about Sorority Forever.

Annemarie: Sorority Forever is a web series about a group of girls trying to rush the hottest sorority on campus—it’s a dream come true for every girl to be accepted, but the sorority has a lot of dark secrets.

Sindy:: What’s your character, Rachel, like?

Annemarie: Rachel Perkins is the vice-president of the sorority and she’s caught between two worlds—she wants to achieve success in the sorority, but to do that she has to do some morally questionable things. She has a constant battle of where her lines of right and wrong fall.

Sindy:: You studied animal science at California State. Were you in a sorority there?

Annemarie: There aren’t any animal science sororities so no (laughs), so when I went to research the role, I talked to a few girls—it was hard though because they’re all very loyal to their sorority and don’t want to divulge any secrets!

Sindy:: McG was involved, right?

Annemarie: Yeah, his company, Wonderland, was the executive producer of the show. They were such a strong support team—I got really lucky.

Sindy:: Any funny on-set moments?

Annemarie: They secretly shot footage for the gag reel, so of course they caught me breaking out into lame dances and filmed me doing this weird cheek thing—I like to blow air in my cheeks and wiggle my face around—you just assume no one’s looking! I had no clue!

Sindy:: Haha, awesome! Can you tell me about the red door? That’s supposed to be a scary part of the series.

Annemarie: The red door is in the basement of the sorority house and it’s the gateway to a majority of the secrets. Only my character and one other know what’s behind it.

Sindy:: You’re also in a zombie movie called Edges of Darkness. Do you like the horror genre?

Annemarie: Yeah, I’ve been watching horror movies since I was little—I saw The Exorcist when I was six!

Sindy:: What was it like filming Edges of Darkness?

Annemarie: Sticky! I was constantly covered in fake blood—it’s a gory movie. (laughs)

Sindy:: What other kinds of projects would you like to work on?

Annemarie: It’d be a dream to be on Heroes or Smallville, and I really want to be on that new vampire show with Anna Paquin, True Blood.

Sindy:: Well you already have blood experience!

Annemarie: I do! (laughs) I should write them and tell them that.

Sindy:: Are there any plans to bring Sorority Forever to TV or DVD?

Annemarie: I know they’re definitely putting the first season on DVD, and there are rumours about the second season going to TV—I know if it did, everyone would be on board because we all had an amazing time shooting it.

Sindy:: Awesome—thanks so much, Annemarie!

Annemarie: Thanks, Kidzworld!

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
