Ninjatown :: DS Game Review

Mr. Demon is after the secret NInja Cookie recipe! Take control of the Old Master Ninja and defend Ninja Town. Take advantage of your Ol' Master Powers and all the different ninjas under your control in this hilarious and fun game.

A Different Kind of Ninja

This isn't Naruto. Former game writer Shawn Smith first created Wee Ninjas as plush dolls before his company worked with SouthPeak Games to create NinjaTown. Aside from the black-clad ninja, Shawnimal's wacky world also includes Business Ninjas, Ninja Consultants, Zombie Ninjas, Pirate Devils, and a ferocious Dino Slug.

The Story So Far

As the Old Master Ninja, your afternoon nap has been disturbed by Mr. Demon's Wee Devil invasion. Called upon by the mayor to handle the crisis while he prepares a welcome celebration, you beat back Mr. Demon's forces on over 40 different maps. The story is full of great jokes and the art and animation is bright and fun to watch.

Leading the Ninjas

This is a tower defense game. You build different houses for your ninjas to live in and they'll attack any enemies that walk by. If your ninjas get badly hurt, they'll retreat back into the house to recover. As the Old Master Ninja, you determine where and when to build these houses and watch the battle from above in your hot air balloon. Aside from upgrading and building support structures like a Training Dojo or Green Tea Bistro, you can also help the fight with your Ol' Master Powers, which includes abilities that blow back the enemy or fry them with a magnifying glass.

A Game With Everything

Ninjas, zombies, and pirates make everything better and this game has it all. The story is silly and funny while the game itself is fun and addicting. As one of the only tower defense games for the Nintendo DS, this is a must have game.
