The Bachelorette 5 :: Episode 5

The final ten bachelors take to the slopes with Jillian in Whistler, BC. With this season’s drama-maker, David, eliminated, you’d think that tensions would ease. But rumors are still flying about one guy with a hidden agenda.

Leap of Faith

On the first one-on-one date, Jillian takes funny-man Michael zip lining. “It’s all about commitment,” the zip lining instructor says as he preps Michael for his jump. Zip lining is like a relationship, and Jillian wants to see if Michael can handle commitment. But Michael doesn’t back down. He’s a genuine, affectionate guy who can handle anything.

Snow Day

Eight guys join Jillian for a day of snowmobiling, campfires and some serious chats. But Ed’s tells Jillian that his boss is giving him an ultimatum: come back to work, or lose his job. Ed is torn. Is a 1/10 chance of winning Jillian’s heart worth giving up his career? Jillian gives Ed the date rose, showing him how much she wants him to stay.

A Quick Connection

Jillian and Jesse are glacier-bound on this week's final one-on-one date. The two had a slow start, but Jillian can’t deny their strong connection. After a romantic dinner, Jillian and Jesse relax in the hottub. But it was a less-than-steamy hottub scene compared to Jillian’s final date with Jason Mesnick on last season’s The Bachelor. Nonetheless, Jesse gets the date rose, keeping him safe from elimination.

Painful Goodbyes

With a few days to think it through, Ed makes the toughest decision of all: he tells Jillian that he's leaving. Heartbroken, Jillian says goodbye to one of the cutest and quietly confident guys in the competition. He was definitely a front runner, but he wasn’t the only guy Jillian was falling for.

The Rose Ceremony

With Ed gone, Jillian only has to eliminate one more guy. She cancels the cocktail party, having already made her decision. She sends Mark home, an obvious choice for this week’s elimination.
