You probably know Heather Morris as the clueless cheerleader Brittany known for her one-liners on Glee. Find out more about this star in her Kidzworld bio.

Dancing Queen

Heather Morris was born in California, but spent most of her younger years in Arizona. At a young age she discovered her talent for dance, and in 2006 she auditioned with her best friend for the hit reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance. Although she didn’t make it into the top 20, the show was a stepping-stone for her career in dance.

A year later, Heather landed a job as the backup dancer for Beyoncé, and accompanied her on two different world tours. In 2009 Heather starred in Fired Up, a film about two guys who lie in order to attend cheerleading camp with 300 girls . The choreographer for the film, Zach Woodlee, liked Heather’s dancing and got her more work on several TV shows, including Eli Stone and How I Met Your Mother.

Gleek

Heather first met the cast of Glee when she was brought in by choreographer Zach Woodlee to teach them the “Single Ladies” dance during season one. The show decided to keep her as the third cheerleader, and the character Brittany was created. Although the role was supposed to be a minor one, Heather’s talent quickly shone and her character has become one of the most loved on the show.

The second season of Glee provided Heather with many opportunities to expand her dancing and singing. The second episode of the season featured songs by Britney Spears, with Heather Morris stepping up to play the role of Britney. Heather starred in many of the musical numbers in this episode and Britney Spears even sent Heather flowers and a note to thank her for her hard work. Since the episode, Heather’s character has seen more airtime on the show – a trend fans hope will continue.

Heather Says:

“I love Brittany just as much as everyone else. When I read every script, I’m laughing out loud already because it’s so great on the page.”
