How to Form a Girl Band

In 2008, Louis Walsh (of X Factor judge fame) and Kian Walsh decided they wanted to form a new girl band. They held auditions in Dublin, Ireland in July and 3000 girls auditioned! About the auditions, Louis said, “We’re looking for talent. Undiscovered talent, young with a good attitude and who will look good. We don’t want good - we want great.” The five lucky lasses were announced in December 2008 to be Jodi Albert, Sharon Condon, Corrina Durran, Leigh Learmont and Kasey Smith!

Reality Television

Even though it looks super fun to be in a girl band, it’s a lot of work too! Even though the band was formed in 2008, it’s taken two whole years for them to get their debut single and album ready! Leigh Learmont even revealed that it took them a year and a half to come up with the band name Wonderland! Cameras followed them around while they were producing their debut album and was aired on a reality show called “Louis Walsh and Kian Egan’s Next Big Thing” on ITV2 in the UK and TV3 in Ireland.

Debut Album

We’re only a couple of weeks away from the release of their debut album on 7 March in the UK! Their debut single, “Not a Love Song” has been described as “fun and cheeky with a rocky edge” by Jodi Albert and Corrina says “We’re quite casual and laid back girls. We sing music that’s quite heartfelt and we really want to get into our performances.” Check out a clip of them performing "Nothing Moves Me Anymore"!
