America's Got Talent: Season 6, Episode 24 :: Wild Card Round

Jul 10, 2018

This week on America’s Got Talent (Season 6, Episode 24), the judges brought back 12 eliminated acts to compete for a second chance at stardom. The AGT Wild Card Round aired on August 16, 2011.

Howie’s Picks

Just to drive Piers crazy, Howie brought back Those Funny Little People. Piers called them complete idiots and said they turned the show into a mockery. Ouch, that’s a little harsh! Magician Seth Grabel performed a trick involving a time machine and children dressed as mini-judges. Piers said he had a lot of showmanship, but very little content in his act.

Comedian J. Chris Newberg put Piers in his place by performing a roast on his behalf. While Piers hated his previous performances, he enjoyed the roast, calling it inappropriate, offensive, inaccurate and funny. Finally, Howie brought back The Fiddleheads, the band who combines blue grass with modern songs. They performance Grenade by Bruno Mars.

Sharon’s Picks

The girl group Avery and the Calico Hearts returned, only to receive the same advice from the judges: come back when you’re older and your voice has matured. Singer Shevonne, who was eliminated in Vegas, returned to receive high praise from the judges.

West Springfield Dance Team spooked the judges with a play on The Dark Knight film, but they didn’t step up their performance from last time. Finally, Yellow Designs Stunt Team turned BMX tricks into a show, with pirates, mermaids and a mistake that added excitement to their act, according to Piers.

Piers’s Picks

Piers offered the Kinetic King a second chance to show America what he’s made of, and his trick went down without any mishaps. Juggler Charles Peachock messed up one of his two tricks making his dangerous act a bust.

Sharon agreed with Piers that the Summerwind Skippers make skipping sexy. And even though they made a mistake, they recovered quickly and fluidly. Magician Landon Swank closed the show with a Houdini-style escape trick, which all the judges loved.

Our Predictions

On August 17, 2011, four of these acts will move on to the semi-finals. Based on the judges feedback, we predict J. Chris Newberg, Yellow Designs Stunt Team, the Summerwind Skippers, and Landon Swank.
