Disney’s PROM: The Perfect Party
Want to throw the perfect party? What’s the ultimate playlist? What food should be served? And how do you get your buddies on the dance floor? We asked the cast of PROM to share their party secrets! Follow their advice and you’ll be hosting the best bash ever…
TIP ONE: JARED KUSNITZ SAYS… CHOOSE A COOL PARTY THEME!
“The first step to throwing a cool party is to choose a fun party theme and find the perfect venue. I’m a huge NBA fan, so my perfect party would have a basketball theme. I’d throw the event in a school gym with loads of basketball hoops for people to play around with. I’d serve simple food like hamburgers and hotdogs, just like we were at an actual basketball game. It’s a genius idea!”
TIP TWO: AIMEE TEEGARDEN SAYS… CREATE COOL INVITATIONS!
“When you’ve decided on your party theme, create some fun invitations to get the news of your event out there. Make something colorful, bright and enticing – and ask your arty friends to help out if you’re not the best at art. There are loads of fun websites with cool clip art, so head online and get researching. Put on your artistic hat and have some fun!”
TIP THREE: NOLAN SOTILLO SAYS… SERVE TASTY PARTY TREATS!
“Serving the right food is very important at a party. I would serve small slices of pizza that you can eat really quickly, or little ham and cheese sandwiches. My favorite party food is peanut butter on crackers, so I’d also make sure that was available, as well as loads of chips. Ask your friends what they would like to eat and see what you come up with together. Do a food survey among your friends and pick the top five items!”
TIP FOUR: THOMAS MCDONELL SAYS… PLAY TOP TUNES!
“If you want to throw the perfect party, it’s important to play great music that will get all of your friends up onto the dance floor. In my opinion, Top 40 pop hits will work the best. Play songs that everyone knows and you’ll get everyone dancing in no time!”
TIP FIVE: NOLAN SOTILLO SAYS… DISH UP DELICIOUS DRINKS!
“It’s important to keep everybody hydrated at a party, especially if it’s a hot summer day. That’s why I’d make sure I had every type of drink available, from water and fruit juice to various types of soda. We’d have lemonade, pink lemonade, apple juice and grape juice. Everything and anything will do!”
TIP SIX: AIMEE TEEGARDEN SAYS… FIND THE PERFECT PARTY DRESS!
“There’s a lot of dancing at parties, so the first criteria for the perfect party outfit is finding a dress with straps. If you go for a strapless dress, you’ll spend the whole night pulling it up. Don’t do it! A lot of people opt for black or white dresses at parties, but I think it’s better to go for something a little more fun and colorful. Choose a bright color that looks great with your skin tone, like a royal blue. That’s a color that looks beautiful on practically everybody.”
TIP SEVEN: DANIELLE CAMPBELL SAYS… TAKE YOUR TIME WITH MAKEUP!
“When it comes to party makeup, take your time. Look at the color of your dress and adapt your makeup to suit it. If your dress is a really bright color, then you probably don’t want to go super bright on your face. However, if you have a pale dress or a black dress, then you can go a little brighter with your makeup. Maybe go for a dazzling lip color and add some shimmer on your cheeks – but don’t overdo it. Look in the mirror before you head out to the party and make sure you like what you see.”
TIP EIGHT: AIMEE TEEGARDEN SAYS… WEAR THE RIGHT SHOES!
“I’m a very practical person, so I know how important it is to find a cool party outfit that’s also comfortable. Comfort is key! If you’re not comfortable, you’re not going to be happy and you’re not going to party away with a smile on your face, so think about this when you’re choosing your party shoes. If you’ve found some amazing shoes that aren’t very comfortable, put a pair of flats in your bag that you can change into later. Or better yet, find some comfy shoes in the first place. Don’t go for a huge heel. Go for something you can relax and dance in. Have fun!”
