Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds: GC, PS2 & Xbox Game Review

Dec 27, 2006
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Scooby Gang left TV land, but they're still kickin' it in the world of video games. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds video game for the Playstation 2 lets you join the fight to save Sunnydale by controlling Buffy, Xander, Willow, Faith, Spike and even Sid, the dummy. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer video game is squeezed into season five of the TV show plot like a missing TV episode. The Scooby Gang is chillin' at the Magic Box when, suddenly, dead villains start making a major comeback. It's kung-fu action with extra vampire dusting and a side order of creepy demons!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Good Stuff

If you like kicking butt with Buffy, Xander, Willow, Faith, Sid and Spike, then you're in for a treat. You can get medieval with all kinds of weapons, including everybody's fave - wooden stakes. There are also lots of moves, puzzles to solve and most of the actors from the Buffy TV show do the voices of the characters.

You can even have a Buffy showdown with the new multiplayer mode. It has a ton of unlockable characters, mini-games and combat modes so you and your friends can match-up your fave Buffy characters.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Bad Stuff

There's a ton of fun stuff in Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds but Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) and Alyson Hannigan (Willow) don't do the voices for Buffy and Willow, which totally sucks. The controls have some issues too, cuz you can get stuck doing a combo of moves way too easily. The multiplayer mode is a bit sketchy, like it was added at the last minute.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds Final Word

The action is good, the game is fun and only a few problems keep Buffy and the gang from truly rocking. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds is still a good dose of video game action for the Playstation 2 and totally worth checking out!
