The Bennifer Era Ends
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck won't have to dodge reporters and rumors anymore - at least not as a couple. The celebrity couple, nicknamed Bennifer, has ended their engagement. There is no reason given officially by either Ben Affleck or Jennifer Lopez, but J. Lo's publicist has said, "Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy." January 20, 2004 was their last reported day of coupledom. The breakup happened just days after gossip that Jennifer Lopez has gotten back together with ex-boyfriend Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. Both Diddy and J. Lo say they are just friends.
Britney Spears Gets Hitched?!
Britney Spears married a longtime friend, Jason Allen Alexander, at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip. But, the wedded bliss was over quicker that you can say "Oops, I did it again." One of Britney Spears' peeps made this statement for the pop diva, "On January 3, Britney Spears and a friend took a joke too far by getting married. Ms. Spears and Mr. Alexander have filed for an annulment." The annulment (which means, legally, the marriage never happened) came through at noon on Monday January 5, 2004 - meaning the couple was hitched for exactly 55 hours. Did anybody ever think this joke was funny? Doubt it.
Courteney Cox Arquette: Another Friend on the Way
Monica and Chandler are getting a little one - and so are Courteney and David! Courteney Cox, the actress who plays Monica Gellar-Bing on Friends, is expecting her first child with wacky hubby David Arquette.
