Dodgeball DVD Review

Grab your gym shorts and some extra padding cuz Dodgeball hits theaters on June 18, 2004. This rock 'em, sock 'em flick stars Ben Stiller (who plays White Goodman) and Vince Vaughn (who plays Peter LeFleur) as rival gym owners. White Goodman is trying to take over Peter's gym, Average Joes so he can make a parking lot for his own gym - Globo Gym. But, LeFleur isn't going down without a fight - a dodge ball fight that is. Dodgeball - Grab Life by the Ball

Dodgeball - a game where you pit the strong against the weak and get them to hurl rubber balls at each other. It's never fair and it's guaranteed that we all have a dodge ball horror story. Well, Dodgeball the movie isn't all that different from those painful gym class games. Average Joes is going bankrupt and the only way they can save their beloved gym is to come up with $50,000 - fast. So, how does this group of losers decide to do it? Play at the National Amateur Dodgeball Association Championships in Las Vegas!

Dodgeball - High Flying Fun

There are some pretty funny scenes in Dodgeball. Ben Stiller's character, White Goodman, is so slimy and annoying you just want to punch him. But it's his lame attempts at winning the heart of Kate Veatch that make for some of the hilarious parts. Plus, what could be funnier than watching a bunch of grown-ups play a sport made for school-children?

Dodgeball - Ouch! That Hurts

While Dodgeball does have some pretty great one-liners, they are kind of few and far between. You'll definitely get some laughs out of this flick, but it's not Ben or Vince's best performance. Some of the characters are pretty nerdy and their quirkiness works for a bit - but by the end of the movie you really just want the guy who talks like a pirate to be knocked out by a dodge ball.

If there wasn't enough Dodgeball fun in the movie for ya, you'll have to check out the DVD. You'll be able to check out tons of deleted scenes that are just as funny as the rest of the flick. Dodgeball - And the Winner Is...

Dodgeball is the kind of flick you might wanna go to with a bunch of your pals on a Sunday afternoon, but you definitely don't want to waste a Friday night watching this one. If you're dying for a Ben Stiller fix, go out and rent Zoolander - it's much funnier.
