Starsky and Hutch Movie Review

Dec 27, 2006

Long before your time, a crime fighting duo was tearing up the small screen with their funky fashions and witty banter. Now you have the opportunity to catch some of the good ol' Starsky and Hutch fun. Will this flick win you over or is it only something the 'rents can enjoy? Find out here!

Starsky and Hutch - The Good Old Days

Way back in 1975, a team of plainclothes officers hit the streets of Bay City (AKA San Francisco). They didn't always play by the rules, but that's what made them the best cops the city had ever seen. Fast forward to 2004 and you've got a remake of one of the coolest retro TV shows. Ben Stiller (who plays Detective David Starsky) and Owen Wilson (who plays Detective Ken Hutchinson) have stepped up to the plate to take over the roles of Starsky and Hutch and they mean business. Stiller and Wilson are also joined by some pretty hot stars, like Snoop Dogg (as Huggy Bear), Vince Vaughn (as Reese Feldman) and Will Ferrell.

Starsky and Hutch - Dy-no-mite!

There's no doubt that Starsky and Hutch will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter. From start to finish the jokes keep coming from the comic geniuses, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. And if the great script doesn't keep you riveted, then the often-comical '70s style will. The local cheerleaders shake their stuff in matching terry cloth outfits and Huggy Bear is always decked out in some elaborate get-up, complete with some serious bling bling. Once again, Will Ferrell creates a character that you'll totally fall in love with - even though he's a creepy convict with an unusual obsession with dragons. But wait - there's more! Starsky and Hutch has one killer soundtrack that you'll be grooving to long after the movie is over.

Starsky and Hutch - What a Bummer!

Starsky and Hutch is a great flick but might not be the kind of movie you should see with your younger sibs. At times Starsky and Hutch seems to glorify crime a little too much (which is uncool!), but other than that it's a pretty solid film. Don't expect too much from Starsky and Hutch though - it's jam-packed with silly jokes but not a whole lot else.

Starsky and Hutch - DVD Features

In true Starsky and Hutch fashion, the DVD is packed with over-the-top features. There's behind-the-scenes footage that is just as funny as the movie itself and join Snoop Dogg for a little Fashion Fa Shizzle Wit Huggy Bizzle. How could you turn that down?

Starsky and Hutch - The Bottom Line

If you're looking for some silly, slap-stick humor, then Starsky and Hutch is the movie for you! This is definitely a flick you'll be able to catch with your buds on a Friday night and you'll still be talking about it on Monday morning.
