The Great Memory Card Wipeout!
If you're a Playstation Underground member, watch out for the Holiday 2004 Demo Disc. The disc is 90% safe, but if you try to play the Viewtiful Joe 2 game demo, it'll toast your Memory Card.Saving Your Saved Games
This is the easy part. To avoid losing all your game files there are two things you can do:Every other game demo is fine, it's just the one from Capcom that'll eat your saved games.

Hi Gary,
Recently, I recieved the new PS2 Holiday Demo Disc in the mail from Sony. Eager to play, I tossed the disc in my PS2. I played all of the games happily, and it wasn't until a week later that I realized my memory card had been completely wiped out of it's memory. I was very frustrated and curious as to why this had occured and went to find out by looking on the Internet. During my search for the truth, I found kidzworld.com and the article on my problem. I thank you for informing me but I wonder if you could answer a question. I heard from someone that if you send your defected disc in to Sony, they will give you a free game as an apology. I am wondering if this is true, and if it is, could you find the address to which I send my disc?

Ouch! Bummer to hear that the Holiday Demo Disc got your Memory Card. :o(
Good news though - Sony IS giving out free games to say sorry. I called 'em and checked out some of the info. You can take a look at what to do, and what games you can get, right here:
Good luck!
Gary
I lost everything on my memory card and I found your information, so I called Sony and they are sending a free game as an apology. They were very apologetic and send they would send the game if I return the disc. Thanks for your help! A free game is better then nothing.

Man this really sucks. I had almost all my games either completed or close to it. Like Star Ocean and Final Fantasy 10 and 10-2. But no, Capcom screwed it all up again. This is the second time something like this has happened.
