Music review for Ashantis third album, Concrete Rose, and Lindsay Lohans debut album, Speak.

Ashanti - Concrete Rose

In just a few years, Ashanti has gone from hook girl to R&B superstar. After the success of her first two albums, Ashanti and Chapter II, she returns with her third album, Concrete Rose. It's full of great uptempo R&B tracks and vocal guests, like T.I. and Lloyd - but it's also filled with useless interludes. However, the album ends on a high note with a bonus track of the Wonderful remix with Ja Rule and R. Kelly.

Ashanti - Concrete Rose Fun Facts

  • Ashanti's album is called Concrete Rose because hip-hop is gritty, like concrete, and R&B is soft and smooth, like a rose.
  • Ashanti's first single, Only U, debuted at No. 63 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is quickly climbing the charts each week.
  • The video for Only U was shot in Vancouver, Canada and Mexico City.

Ashanti - Concrete Rose Hot Tracks

  • Only U; Focus; Take Me Tonight; Turn It Up; Don't Leave Me Alone.

Lindsay Lohan - Speak

After singing on the soundtracks of the movies, Freaky Friday and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Lindsay Lohan has released her debut album, Speak. She definitely speaks her mind and unleashes her frustration, especially in songs like Rumors, where she begs the media to leave her alone. The album is a mix of dance/pop/rock tracks that sound similar to songs by fellow teen queens like Hilary Duff and Britney Spears.

Lindsay Lohan - Speak Fun Facts

  • Lindsay collaborated with producers who have worked with Ashlee Simpson, 'N Sync and Destiny's Child.
  • Lindsay co-wrote her first single, Rumors.
  • Rumors debuted at No. 24 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100.

Lindsay Lohan - Speak Hot Tracks

  • Nobody 'Til You; Speak; Over; Disconnected; Rumors.
