Here's the 411 on the New Sony PSP - The Playstation Portable!

Sony's been getting its butt kicked in the handheld console biz by Nintendo's Gameboy for years but now they're fighting back with the new Playstation Portable, or PSP. What is this hot new system and what can it do? Well, it dropped on March 24, 2005 and the news went wild on the IGN Playstation Portable, GameSpy PS2 and Playstation Portable, and GameStats Playstation Portable sites but we have the info right here too. Rumors say that they can play games, movies, MP3s, organize photos and maybe even train your dog to fetch. Here are the facts!

This sucker is 7" wide, 3" tall, 1" thick and weighs in at just over half a pound. It uses Memory Sticks, wireless networking, USB plugs and special 1.8 GB UMD discs to cram info onto the massive 4.3" wide screen. The screen on the PSP is way bigger than even the Nintendo DS's 3" wide screen, and it has the graphics power of a PS2! To top it off, it has Dolby Digital 7.1 sound, stereo speakers, a lithium ion battery pack, an AC adaptor and even security software so it won't get hacked like Paris Hilton's cell phone.
