Pokemon Emerald Game Cheat: Capture Kyogre and Groudon
Courtesy of NintendoWhile hangin' out in the Kidzworld Chat Gary had Kidzworld member Ice-Jewelz ask him a few questions about capturing some legendary Pokemon in the Pokemon Emerald video game. Instant cheat time! Actually, it's not really a game cheat, it's more of a game walkthrough. But whatever, it's a Cheat Street article that'll help you kick butt in Pokemon Emerald, check it out!
Capturing Kyogre and Groudon Basics
The first thing you should know is that catching
Groudon and
Kyogre isn't easy! You have to be near the end of the game, after
Rayquaza has stopped Kyogre and Groudon from battling, and after you've beaten the
Elite Four, before you'll have a chance to capture them.
Capturing Kyogre and Groudon: Finding Them
The second thing you have to do is
find them! The scientist at the
Weather Institute on
Route 119 who gave you the
Castform Pokemon knows where they are. Go talk to him and he'll mention a Route. Go there, look around for either
mountain caves or
dark water, climb or dive into them. You'll find Groudon waiting in the mountain caves or Kyogre in the dark water.
Pokemon Emerald: Battling Kyogre and Groudon
If you're going to fight them, you need to know what they're
weak against and what to use against them. Here's the 411 on both of them.
Kyogre - Kyogre is a L70 Water Pokemon and is really strong. You're best bet is to use a Grass Pokemon with a really strong Atk and SDef to battle it.
Groudon - Groudon is a L70 Ground Pokemon and is really strong too! A Water Pokemon with a really strong SAtk and Def is your best chance when battling it.
So, capture Kyogre with a strong
Grass Pokemon then use Kyogre to capture Groudon. Check out this
Pokemon strength/weakness chart for tips on finding a
Pokemon to use against them. If you can give them a condition like
Burned,
Poisoned,
Asleep or
Paralyzed, while you're battling them it really helps to capture them.
Good luck!
