Fantastic Four - Gamecube, PC, PS2 and Xbox Game Review
Courtesy of ActivisionThe Fantastic Four are bashing their way through bad guys in the new Fantastic Four movie and now they have their own video game! You can get this super hero action game for the Gamecube, PC, PS2 and Xbox. What's it all about, and how do the Fantastic Four score on the Kidzworld game-o-meter? Gary's got the scoop!
Fantastic Four Video Game Basics
It's
clobberin' time! The Fantastic Four video game is all about smashing your way past
robots,
super villains and thugs by using
teamwork. You can control the whole
Fantastic Four team in a level and switch between them as you play. Each character also has a special
mini-game to let you tear stuff apart, burn something up and more.
Fantastic Moves for the Fantastic Four
The coolest part of this game is the
combat moves. You can
power-up each character's attacks, pull
combo moves with the rest of the Fantastic Four, and even unlock
super mode for some serious butt-kicking. The horde of
mini-games that are all over the place are great too!
Superhero Suckiness in Fantastic Four
The worst part about this game is that the controls feel
clumsy. Moving around is awkward and stepping on
special move circles can be frustrating. The levels are pretty blah too, there are lots of thugs to thump, but they're missing something.
Can the Fantastic Four Save the Day?
If you're looking for a simple game to play with your friends, it's
good fun! It's a bit weak for a single player but
arena battles and cooperative mode are great for
multiple players.
Fantastic Four Thumbs Up:
Upgradeable power moves.
Mini-games for each character.
Arena battles to test your skills.
Control all four Fantastic Four members at once.
Lots of super villains to battle.
Fantastic Four Thumbs Down:
The controls are clumsy.
Ho-hum levels.
Sue Storm and Johnny Storm are weak.
