The Abominable Snowman DVD Review
Courtesy of Lean Forward MediaWinter has hit a little early this year with the release of The Abominable Snowman DVD from Choose Your Own Adventure. With 11 possible stories to choose from, there's a whole heap of fun packed into this DVD. Kidzworld checks out this ice-cold flick.
The Abominable Snowman - Gettin' Chilly With It
The Abominable Snowman is the first
Choose Your Own Adventure book to be adapted to DVD but the book-series has sold more that 250 million copies. It follows the story of Benjamin (voiced by
Frankie Muniz), Crista (
Lacey Chabert) and Marco (
Daryl Sabara) as they search the Himalayas for their lost Uncle Rudy (
William H. Macy), who went missing while tracking the elusive Abominable Snowman. Will the threesome find their beloved uncle or will they succumb to poachers,
wild animals and avalanches? It's up to you to decide!
The Abominable Snowman - Everything Just Clicked
When you get to
decision-time, the film pauses so you can decide which path you want to go. For example, will you bail out of your
crashing plane or try to land it? Using the
left or right arrows on your
DVD remote, you decide the fate of the characters - before the time runs out and the DVD decides for you!
The Abominable Snowman - DVD Features
The Abominable Snowman DVD also comes packed with features including a travel
journal that teaches you about the Himalayas, a music video, a
documentary called "In the Shadow of the
Himalayas: How People Live in Nepal", and a behind-the-scenes featurette with cast interviews!
The Abominable Snowman - The Bottom Line
The Abominable Snowman DVD is a
whirlwind adventure that packs in laughs, excitement and even a little
education (but don't hold that against it!). The
interactive format means that you'll be able to watch this DVD over and over again and it will be different every time. Definitely worth checking out!
