Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP Video Game Review

Feb 12, 2007

Ratchet’s a furry action hero and his buddy Clank is a tiny little robot with a big brain and an even bigger bag of tricks. They team up to take on evil across the galaxy so, when a little girl gets kidnapped and the trail leads straight to the legendary Tecnomites, they leap into action. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters is their latest robot-filled smashfest and it’s for the super-cool Sony PSP handheld gaming system. Gary strained his thumbs putting all the fun to the test and here’s the 411 with his video game review!

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters – Teamwork for the Win!

You control Ratchet and Clank through a bunch of different 3D levels, mini-games and weird challenges. Ratchet’s an action hero and spends most of his time running, jumping, shooting and smack-talking the bad guys. Clank’s a bit weirder - he has a few action hero levels, plus he can change into a giant space-bot and fly through the cosmos blasting bad guys into rubble. As you play you collect new weapons, better armor, cool gadgets and bolts that you can spend on power-ups to make flattening bad guys a whole bunch easier.

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters – Smashing Fun and Games!

There’s so much good stuff in this game it’s hard to know where to start! There are over a dozen weapons, including the super-cool Agents of Doom (they’re cute, funny and they’ll chew the bad guys’ ankles off!), and you can power them up with all kinds of awesome upgrades. The action is fast, fun and gives you tons of stuff to smash. The levels are incredible too – loaded with puzzles, cool graphics, big bosses and even random mini-games to keep things interesting. Plus, there are a bunch of multiplayer game modes and you can even go online to challenge people!

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters – Game Glitches

The only thing smaller than this pint-size game is the list of problems. The Skyboarding mini-game is a bit weak and, once every blue moon, the sound shuts down for a couple seconds. Everything else is chocolate-coated gold. Yum!

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters – Big Fun?

The deadly duo team up for a seriously awesome dose of video game fun in Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters. It has tons of action packed into a solid story and it includes a heap of mini-games and multiplayer modes for when that gets old. It’s awesome fun and if you don’t have a PSP, this game is the reason to get one!

  • You can power up each weapon for serious mayhem.
  • The Agents of Doom are awesome!
