Aly & AJ - Insomniatic

Aly & AJ are back with their third CD, a synth-heavy pop-rock album that takes first-breakup angst and sets it to a mood-conflicting dance beat. While there may be a lack of harmony between the music and lyrics, there certainly isn't between Aly & AJ. The sister act proves they're pint-sized professionals who never fail to churn out the hits.

Aly & AJ - Insomniatic Fun Facts

  • The song Like Whoa will be featured in the movie My Super Sweet 16: The Movie - Aly and AJ star in it as well.
  • It's rumored that the first single from Insomniac, Potential Breakup Song, was written about written about Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers, after he and AJ reportedly broke up.
  • The song Careful With Words appears exclusively on copies of Insomniac sold at Walmart.

Kate Voegele - Don't Look Away

Kate Voegele is a soft rock crooner with a vaguely familiar sound - a little Sheryl Crow and a lot more Michelle Branch. Kate's debut album displays her undeniable vocal talents, but her sound is a little too adult-contemporary for the MySpace generation she's trying to target. Still, with award-winning writing talents and a voice that won't quit, Kate is a serious musical contender in the making.

Kate Voegele - Don't Look Away Fun Facts

  • Kate is signed to MySpace Records.
  • The president of MySpace Records is Tom - yup, the same guy who is everyone's first friend when they join MySpace.
  • Kate won the 2005 USA Songwriting contest in the pop category for her song Only Fooling Myself.
  • Kate Voegele - Don't Look Away Hot Tracks

Only Fooling Myself; Chicago; It's Only My Life

It included a lot of mature themes and it really connects with today's older youth. You mean violence wise? Not just that, but the show tells the stories of the characters finding themselves. Take Asami for example. A lot of people have a late relative and another relative involved in some kind of trouble. She had her relationships AND family business to take care of, which relates to some of today's youth who feel like they have the whole world on their shoulders. They're starting to have to take responsibility for things they can hardly manage, and seeing the triumph of a character like Asami is truly inspiring. Her mother's dead, her father's in prison, her boyfriend was stolen from her, and her business nearly failed. But she did not give up, which sends a positive message to today's generation of teens. Mako was not stolen from Asami he just chose Korra and everyone knows that thats what people wanted. As messed up as that sounds its the truth.
