Birthday: January 31, 1981
Birth Place: Memphis, Tennessee
From his *NSYNC days to his one man misson to bring SexyBack, Justin Timberlake knows how to make headlines. We've got the goods on his journey from Star Search to stardom.
Justin Timberlake - Family Tree
Justin Timberlake's 'rents are Lynn Harless (who runs an
entertainment management company called
JustinTime) and Randy Timberlake. Justin's parents divorced when he was just five, with his dad re-marrying and having more children. Justin has two
step-brothers named Stephen and Jonathan. Justin also had a half-sister, Laura Katherine, who
died minutes after birth.
Justin Timberlake - Big Break
Although Justin made his
TV debut on the '80s talent show,
Star Search, he lost that competition. Justin's first real break came when he was cast in
The New Mickey Mouse Club (
MMC). That's where he met
Britney Spears,
Christina Aguilera,
Keri Russell, and future fellow
*NSYNCer
JC Chasez.
Justin Timberlake - The *NSYNC Years
As his Mickey Mouse Club days came to an end, a new project came up. Justin was invited to join
a boy band by Lou Pearlman, a talent-agent-turned-scam-artist, who was already working with
Chris Kirkpatrick. Justin invited his pal
JC Chasez to join him and they were followed by Joey Fatone and
Jason Watkins. Jason quickly dropped out and was replaced by
Lance Bass. The newly formed boy band’s name was created by
Justin’s mom – she took the last letter from each of the original boy’s first names to create
*NSYNC. Despite being
taken advantage of by their record company (the band was swindled out of hundreds of
millions of dollars), *NSYNC enjoyed success for
years to come with chart-topping albums like *NSYNC,
No Strings Attached and Celebrity.
Justin Timberlake - The Solo Years
Justin has continued to keep busy during his post-*NSYNC days. In 2002, he released his first solo album, Justified, which featured singles like Cry Me a River and Rock Your Body. Justin has collaborated with the
Black Eyed Peas and was featured on
Nelly's song
Work It. He formed his own record company in 2005, JayTee Records, and released a second solo album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, in 2006.
Justin Timberlake - The Ladies
When Justin's not chillin' with his best friend,
Trace Ayala (who he designs the
clothing line William Rast with), he's
mixin' things up with the ladies. Justin Timberlake - as the whole planet knows - used to date
Britney Spears. After a very public break-up, Justin went on to date Alyssa Milano briefly before meeting
Cameron Diaz in 2003. The pair dated for three years before
calling it quits in January 2007. Since then, Justin has been linked to both
Jessica Biel and
Scarlett Johannson.
Justin Timberlake - Did U Know?
Justin lends his voice to the feature film, Shrek the Third, which will hit theaters on May 18, 2007.
Justin Timberlake was featured on the very first episode on Ashton Kutcher's Punk'd.
Justin Timberlake's fave food is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Justin Timberlake has made guest appearances on a ton of TV shows like The Simpsons, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Clueless.
Justin Timberlake Says...
"I'm just a very passionate person in everything I do. I really believe that whenever you do something you should put everything into it - otherwise, it's really not worth it."
