LEGO Indiana Jones :: Wii Game Review

Courtesy of Lucasarts
With the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie rockin' the theaters, the whip-crackin' adventurer is also appearing in the LEGO Indiana Jones the Original Adventures video game for DS, PC, PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. It takes the awesome fun of the award-winning LEGO Star Wars games and puts a new twist on 'em. Is it any fun? Find out with Gary's LEGO Indiana Jones game review!
Building Blocks and Adventure
If you've played the
LEGO Star Wars games, skip to the next paragraph. Otherwise - you play as
LEGO versions of
Indiana Jones and his
friends, running, jumping, enemy-bashing and
puzzle-solving your way through dozens of levels full of
LEGO bricks. The adventures are all based on the
original three Indiana Jones movies, with extra bits thrown in, LEGO brick-themed
puzzles, boss battles and tons of LEGO studs to collect and spend to
unlock bonuses.
Thrills, Spills and Treasure
The
LEGO magic is back! This game is packed with
fun levels,
great action and tons of
puzzles to solve with Indy and his
friends. It's super easy to play and you can't really die, so
anybody can have fun without worrying about restarting levels or losing. You can also play as
60 different characters, even the
villains, and each one lets you unlock more extras on each level. Plus, the multiplayer mode lets friends join in and drop out any time they want. The final fun feature of this game is that the combination of LEGO and Indiana Jones means it's the perfect game to
play with your dad on
Father's Day!
What, No Lightsabers?!?
Indiana Jones is cool, but doesn't have the awesomeness of the
lightsaber-wielding, force-using, robot-filled
Star Wars games. That's the biggest bummer about the whole game, although it's based on a bunch of really
old movies and doesn't have any
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull levels, which is a bit annoying.
Indy - Hero or Old Man?
LEGO Indiana Jones the Original Adventures is an
awesome game. It may not be as cool as
LEGO Star Wars, but it's still fantastic and a great way to sit down and
game with your Dad on
Father's Day. Plus, there's enough to discover and
unlock in this game that you'll be able to play it until
LEGO Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comes out!
Thumbs Up:
60 characters to play!
Different powers and abilities for each character.
Find hidden LEGO Star Wars stuff.
Tons of crazy bonus modes you can unlock!
Awesome multiplayer options.
Great game to play with your Dad!
Thumbs Down:
Not as awesome as LEGO Star Wars.
No Kingdom of the Crystal Skull levels?!?
